Gator Hunter Reptile Removal and Rescue

My father showed me a lot about reptiles. The most beautiful thing I've ever seen was an indigo snake where I grew up in central Florida. Sadly, I also saw the results of people having snakes they couldn't care for. They released them into the wild where they caused damage to the local wildlife and cattle industry. One of my goals as a reptile rescuer is to educate people about the value of reptiles, especially snakes. To fill this need in our new hometown of Billings, I started Gator Hunter in 2005 as a removal service. In a short time, it became as much a rescue for the animals as a removal service for the human population.

Below are some of the rescues I've done or assisted.

June 2007
Snapping turtle, gender unknown
In spite of its size, this beautiful monster merely hissed its displeasure before wandering off to explore the protected park where it was relocated.
June 2007
Ball python, female
Unable to keep this snake, her owner elected to let us find a new keeper for Shelly. She joined Hector and Cassie in their new home.
June 2007
Leopard gecko, female
This freshly shed lizard found a home with a young lady new to reptiles. We're confident Stevie will only stimulate her interest even further.

Iguana, female
Found roaming, lost, and hungry, this pretty lady was placed with a local iguana-lover when no one claimed her.
May 2007
Bullsnake, female
Injured from being tangled in an irrigation canal net. Once her wounds were healing well, this snake was released in a suitable habitat. We hope she finds a handsome male and makes lots of babies this year!

Terrestrial garters, multiple
When warm weather coaxed some of these little guys into their human neighbor's yard, we relocated about twenty of them to a less dangerous place.
